Weary Words

Sometimes some things just don't work out, And some people never get better, And whilst I'm learning to go without, You're writing me another letter, To keep your hold on me secure, In case he escapes from your cocoon, But worry not, for I am sure You won't need me anytime soon, For as I write this weary verse, He's lifting up your summer dress, And as the pain is getting worse, You're smiling with each soft caress, Lord knows it's going to be tough To purge you from under my skin, But sometimes words are not enough, You're on your own from here on in.
