Weak Spots Viii
The soft sereneness in their eyes
As they find their spot to lay—
Beside you they choose to lay,
Purity embroidering human flaw
Souls so sweetened by the sun,
Delicate ears pricked and alert,
Their tail curling around you—
There is love and trust there
Fingers run through pristine fur,
As it bristles at the touch,
A strong, vocal approval follows,
With zeal that spreads a smile
Their body—their life—against you
Intones: "friend",
But more than a friend,
The touch sings in soulmate blend

Note: Getting sick and feeling low today, but that doesn't mean I will stop writing.
This is specifically for my love for animals, and I truly feel that I met my soulmate in this lifetime with my former cat named Spy. Spy was an all black cat with beautiful green, dreamy eyes and a crooked tail that would whip around happily. His eyes alone made me melt. He was the sweetest animal that I have ever met.
Unfortunately, his life was taken too soon, during Halloween-time, in 2014. He was only a year or so old! The memories I have of his unconditional love and sweetness I will always hold and cherish. I hope this poem reflects the warm love of a beloved animal that you know, or have known in your life. We can learn some much from them. x
Love always,
Laura
