We Stare and Stare
We stare and stare, we strain our eyes,
Pointing telescopes towards the sky,
Hoping, one day to see
Our origins or our destiny.
Like ants attempting Everest,
Unlikely, yet we try our best,
For surely there are more than we,
And if we look, there may well be
Others looking towards their sky,
Who stare and stare, and strain their eyes.
