We tell you how you touch us
I hear you when you write
Your songs speak out the battles
You keep fighting in the night

And the things you say about yourself
They just don’t ring true
It’s not the way we see you
When your music’s breaking through
You are a pillar
Talent wrapped in pain
You turn your weight to wonder
You make beauty from the strain

And you don’t even know it
The way your words break through
You call it hurt and heartache
We call it something true

We see you
Even when you don’t
We hear the fire
Behind the smoke
You call it weakness
We call it art
You bare your soul
And strike a spark
It’s just you
And your honesty too
And every great artist
Bleeds a little truth

And you know I love you
So I see the best in you
I have seen you angry
I have watched you suffer through
I know the world can wear you down
I know you feel alone
What’s a modern man supposed to do
When the pressure chills the bone?

With all the expectations
Aall the things you think you need
To be enough, be worthy

Is the dust of being human

Susan Manley March 27, 2026 at 1:11 PM Thanks, I wrote this for my friend Kyora a fellow AI musician and best friend. I don't get to hang out with him much lately because I am so busy. But he is an amazing musician and has been in a slump lately. And I wanted him to know he is important to me. ( Though he is in Germany and I am in California USA. ).
