We Promise

With your hand and mine over our hearts
We  promise not to ever start
Questioning the very substance
And whys of our simple existence.

We don't want to relive all the fights
That drove us from each other's sight.
Let's be wise and tear down old rules
And turn tomorrows into jewels.
