We need the youngest To be the greatest. New faces in the crowd, New blood to turn with the world around. We need new eyes to see with, We need new minds for the think. We need hearts that we can turn golden, We need souls that we can cut open.

You are right, 'broaden' sounds good, but with 'cut open' I wanted to go deeper.. Until I hit submit and I was way too graphic.
