We Must Wait
Far across the deep blue sea
my only true love waits for me
But I can't seem to find the path
that leads me to my love at last
The ocean is so wide and deep
and promises that we can't keep
That we both made so long ago
how to keep them we don't know
I pray so hard each night and day
that some how we can find a way
And now I know and worry no more
we both can go from shore to shore
And find place that we both know
and to that island we two will go
And if I get there before you do
I 'll stay right there and wait for you
