We Met At the Crossroads
We met at the crossroads
A border between us
Enjoying the chill in the air
Maple leaf whispers
Where no one could listen
Feelings our hearts longed to share
Poetic sunsets
In hibiscus shimmers
Dreams sent adrift on the sea
Firefly kisses
Alone in the twilight
So much in love, you and me
Then in a wind storm
The leaves began swirling
A cloud in the sky did appear
Blocking the sunlight
The warmth of our passion
Filling my body with fear
You started walking
A different direction
Down on my knees I just fell
No sense in praying
For you were my heaven
And now life for me became hell
Some days I wonder
Well, honestly always
If I ever cross through your mind
Do you remember
Our moments together
And all of the love we did find
We met at the crossroads
A border between us
That day I will never forget
But now I sit lonely
My poor heart is broken
Reliving the day that we met
