We Got Amplified

Hired first as your band's assistant
Adonis with bonus warmest manner
Smile left me gooey, I couldn't resist it
Fluent guitar fingers sparked my enamour

Liasing with music gurus was realms apart
From routine of home, single Mom of two
Denham and Stella dominated my heart
Guiltily adoring your skill relit my fuse

Abuzz, boosted with paving your success
Pay was good, job required alert all hours
Your gigs displayed sensitive guitar caress
Same arms strumming me, dreams' allowance

Two absorbing years pumped by, our flirting
Nothing beyond colleague banter, fluttered
A wild bird caged, when we spoke, chest hurting
You must have seen my calm stance shudder

Caley, lead singer, recieved your larva glances
Sparring, sharing, stage gelicnite, heat between
Sent me psycho inside with torturous answers
My head flamed with ways to change the scene

Directives from my desperate heart removed her
Caley departed for solo signed fame and fortune
Becoming your leading lady, insane improvement
Manic practice of your songs, I'd mastered the tunes

Studio and stages welcomed my aroused aroma
Kids freaked out to see me sing, their celebrity
Our first kiss stung beyond dreams dim chroma
Had to grab the mic stand, surprised, to steady me

You embraced role of step dad to Stella and Denham
Ten months of heaven left me pinching myself
Booked out demand band on the rise, entire kingdom
Roamed golden, until my mother needed my help

Diagnosed with late stage lymphoma, given six months
You tenderly held me, understood the wretched choice
Interstate move meant no room for song performance
Leaving you felt like my throat had extracted my voice

We dined, ahead of imminent goodbye, opposite pier
Sticky tape secured me, rib tight reason pleaded stay
Wander to moon cascading baby powder beach, ears
Made music from solo cricket penetrating our dismay

Harbour's harlequin peach sparkle, distant lights on irked ink
Gossiped my departure was years away, albeit next week
" Let's make light at the end of this tunnel, what d'you think?"
You wanted us to have a baby, I floated - unable to speak

Our succumb to love's lurching purpose, spontaneity scorched
Rise of my body's rhythms above your rigidity, face consumed
In longing for me, propelled my energy as climax approached
Damply hung reliant on your shoulder, my fickle faith renewed

I like your poem and that is quite a climax! Nine composers have set poems of mine to music, so you and your band are welcome if you find lyrics you like.

Whoa! What a burst of passion and eroticism. Hot stuff! Good luck in the contest, Sigrid. ~ Gershon

Cheers, Gorgeous! .... Rapt that it reads to you erotic. Obviously, we have to cancel our 'p' s and q's' on this Web site. It's kinda fun being a bit cryptic! Ta for support
