We Glided In Softly
stars pressed to see as we came over the hill
they are here one whispered.
I smiled at my twin; they know I said
The wind had predicted us years ago
we glided in softly, trying not to wake
sleeping children who needed their sugarplums
you first I told my brother
he was delighted
our fairy dust gentled into windows,
filling the children’s brains
with the happiest of thoughts
guiding their imaginations toward hopefulness
love joy and peace
interspersed as subliminal clips
were smoothly dancing into their dendrite highways
our work done we went back to heaven as quickly as we came.
