We Both Know This Was Not Meant To Be

Why can't you see you're not the one for me
With what you bring
You always make my heart sing
So why are you always pulling on my heartstrings
Try as I might my life is always taking flight 
I can't Just stay and fight

Because I know in my heart it's just not right 
Baby, you want to make all these rules
I am way too old school
Please just let me go
This is the only way I can grow
We both know this was not meant to be
Oh baby why can't you see
You're not the one for me

Our love was hit and miss
For me so empty without bliss
There is no way I will ever miss any of this
Please let me go so I will be able to grow
Next time you might want to go slow
You're into much of a hurry to steal the show

That just makes everything go blurry
So don't spend much time with worry
If you have to ask yourself why
Then try to remember it's best not to lie
I could tell by the way you hung your eyes
You told your fair share of what I despise

We are only giving this one try
Unable to compromise
You would rather hide behind that fake disguise
Baby, I am way to wise
How I know this cuts you down to size
Try as I might I'm not always right

Why can't you see your not the one for me
I'm walking away now I am free
That's just the way it has to be 
For a guy like me
Oh, baby, it's all over can't you see
We don't want to live our lives in misery
