This great land, a new chance
   A love affair, pure romance
Our hearts and minds open wide
   Purpose in our every stride

We are the face of America
   Immigrants from everywhere
Our shoulders strong, our workdays long 
   This nation's dream we proudly share

Yes, and many of us are from immigrants, and maybe even convicts. Let's remember that before we get all prissy.

I've taught ESL to over 6,000 immigrants over the last 30 years, mostly legal, but not all. Never had so much as a pencil taken/stolen... Taught high school---all native-born Americans; no ethnics--- for 25 years. Can't count how many items (incl. cash) were stolen. That tells us all something, methinks. :) gw

Wow. I hear, loud and clear, what you've told me. Thank you; thank you; thank you. May I say that if not for the courage and grit of Londoners n WW2, my family would all have been gassed in Hitler's ovens. Thank you and your wonderful country!! Blessings, Gershon
