We Are Sorrow

i have smiled when i have wanted to cry
was it madness, for mind at times wanders.

like she who cries when all she feels is joy
have i lost mind to pensive thought or
is it my sorrow that sets mind loose
if so it proves then i am forever lost
for i am a husk and in me only sorrow dwells
for it has me overcome and i yield to
 deserved penance

i have smiled when i have wanted to cry
was it me or were we then sadness
glad in pain for we called it redemption
