Wayfarer
I am here now in space and time
As life endows my simple rhymes.
Am I a soul, a wayfarer
Seeking the whole? Still no wiser!
I sense stirrings... faint melodies
That seek clearing if I but see.
I look within my intentions
To thoughts unseen... prior commotions.
I am a man — true flesh and blood;
I probe, I scan as questions flood.
I wander here... earth-bound I find;
To make things clear, I search my mind.
I linger here to catch life’s scent;
I look for cheer ere voice is spent.
With certainty, my eyes explore
This sanity — Where is the door?
Creature of light, am I a soul? —
Born to insight, by grace made whole?
A rainbow sky can touch my heart
As thoughts apply my curious start!
Thoughts become things all in due time
As senses fling some portent chime.
Am I a soul born of true light?
Unique and whole... with precious sight?
Joy fills my heart as love finds me
Playing my part — roles yet to be?
