Water's edge

I stand
by the
water's edge.
I see you
rise
sword in hand.
you thrust
the blade into me,
deconstructing
everything I am.
I bleed
for you today
my love
red droplets
color the water
oh so deep
But in my death
I notice that you
don't even weep.
