Connie, your visit and your gracious comments are delightful. Thank you for sharing your lovely thoughts with me, both you and Paul are so kind in your assessment of my haiku.. I would love to see it paired with a beautiful Japanese painting to make a haiga, but I'm not skilled at the art of calligraphy nor this style of painting. Your presence here is treasured always, my friend. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

A dear friend of mine told me I should read more haiku by Susan Ashley (oh, wait, it was you!) I'm glad you did, because this is stunning. Mother nature providing sustenance for her children is a beautiful image, combined with a brief nod to how quickly youth passes us by. I encourage a read of Emily Dickinson's "Nature the Gentlest Mother Is". Your poetry never ceases to dazzle me, my friend. Many blessings to you! Hugs ~ John

My dear friend, I'm so glad you followed your good friend's advice! :)) Your insightful comments fill my heart to brim with elation. I appreciate your golden presence here immensely and also your recommended reading of "Nature the Gentlest Mother Is" - Emily Dickinson was such a nature lover and I relished reading every word. She loved New England's landscapes and seasons as much as I do. Thank you, John, you truly are a wonderful poetry friend. Warmest wishes always.. ~Susan
