Watch Therefore

Standing therefore, we stand on the wall Come Lord, we pray Thee We wait for Thy call We've mourned and we pray For Thy Glorious Day When the Last trump will sound And Your glorious Power Awakens the dead, Resurrection Ing Power Lifting Your faithful Asleep in the ground The Church of Philadelphia In Rapturous holy joy! Woe, Woe! Church Laodicea The judgement Day will find Thou rich unloving prideful church So arrogant and blind You have no need of nothing And your charities a bluffing In your treasures so believe With the name 'church' Sore deceive Now buy thee salve of holiness That your blinded eyes may see Love the Lord and others!!! Your treasures won't save thee! Oh' stand ye faithful watchers Stand watch upon the wall And see the coming day You'll lift! And wickedness will fall! For soon the King will come with fire His Sword of Truth Will sway Watch therefore the King will come Upon that glorious Day Mourn Laodicea Your riches you so trust Will not, and cannot save your soul For treasures turn to dust Awake! Awake! The hour is near The King will ride!! He'll dry the orphan's tear In huddled mass Of Brotherly Love His own eyes saw from Heaven above Who shared the loaves of Molded wheat While false shepherds Took their spoil to eat From widows mites Her meager bites You gobbled up in sheer delight You scattered sheep In Heaven's sight! Behold Laodicea Thou rich and prideful place your nakedness is showing Why won't you wash your face Anoint your eyes with eye salve That you may finally see You think you've need of nothing in your deep apostasy Lazarus. to the rich man? Was nothing but refuse When the salt (LOVE) Loses flavor, then it has lost It's use Oh! Hold on Philidelphia! The King shall mount His steed And lift you in His mercy From this world of hate and greed

Good one coming from the first part of Revelation. It says in Revelation that a person will be blessed by hearing it read. So, I believe we can be blessed by reading it or listening to it on a tape while someone is reading it. Thanks for sharing it with us. Sara K

Love how you created this poem from Revelation. I have been doing two bible studies on that book. Laodicea shows up also in Colossians 2:1; 4:13-16.
