Watch the Candles

Watch the candle's flicker-flame,
know what's different is the same,
we have no one else to blame,
the righteous hang their heads in shame.

Watch the candles burning bright,
gold and blue and yellow light,
stare until they steal your sight,
now you know what's wrong was right.

Watch the candle's melting wax,
now you know you can't relax,
silent covert sneak attacks,
they enemy that leaves no tracks.

Watch the candles melt away,
reality has gone astray,
memories of that fateful day,
too late, my friend, to kneel and pray.
