Wasted Wings
No longer in wonder,
much less in reverential awe,
do we gaze up to the stars
to learn the celestial law;
the mundane obsessions
and idolatries of the day
have so marred and so blurred
the glorious vista of the sky,
have so stifled the urge
to go beyond what is beyond
that, despite our wings,
we've lost the very desire to fly!
