Waste

You were a waste of my sight

Every eyelid flutter
would bring your image
I mistakenly compared so closely to perfection

You were a waste of my breath

Every "I love you" spoken
weighs on my tongue
like a treacherous burden

You were a waste of my heart

Too many times you would make it wither
and be less whole
with each coming day

You were a waste of my tears

So many times I wept
for you
and how you treated me

You were a waste of my honesty

I always let you know my evil truths
just to be maliciously deceived
by your neverending lies

You were a waste of my suffering

You made me feel
pain
I never thought I could endure

But through all the suffering I discovered

Completely, undeniably, and irreversibly

You were a waste of my time
