Washed Away
Washed away like river stone,
And taking everything I own,
Even the most smallest pieces,
Caught until the current ceases...
Stripping me each layer thin,
Until it breeches under skin,
Eroding what my outer shell,
Always seem to hide so well ...
As I watch it peel away,
Like a scene that is replayed,
Many times within my mind,
But this seems so real this time...
Maybe from the pain I feel,
Acknowledging what I conceal,
Hoping for a last defense,
Hidden with my innocence...
But ill waver thru it all,
Against the river till it stalls,
I thank the lord for all he gave,
And pray that I can stand each wave,
