Was That a Unicorn
A swift, surreal ethereal streak in the form of an angelic unicorn
The woodland miniatures were compelled to glance at woodland sky
Was that a unicorn? A wizened older elf asked.
Brownies and pixies were immediately in discussion.
Pixies were more hopeful, but backed down quickly.
Elementals sighed, thinking they had missed him this year.
Luckily, optimistic twinkle faeries were on their way.
Their empathetic queen had received a dream prophecy.
This was the night and the forest where he would appear.
The twinkle faeries began to sing their upbeat joyous anthem
Eager anticipation flooded back into the woods.
The brownies and pixies danced to the elven music.
At midnight the rainbow cellophane unicorn appeared.
She gave them the assurance they had been seeking.
All would right itself in the world and life could happily resume.
