Was It Worth It

"It's hard to laugh when I'm busy crying.
It's hard to smile when I'm busy frowning.
It's hard to love when I'm busy hating."

I can think about you every day,
But why should I waste my time?
It's all the same, in every way.
I am yours; you are the world's.
Who knew that fame could bring you down,
Before putting you on top?
... I did.
But you didn't listen.
You took the advice of a drunken fool,
And cast me down to the dirt.
So I cried,
Shed my share of tears,
And moved on.

Now, fame has bitten you,
And it's venom courses through your veins.
The pain is unbearable,
But there is no one to help you.
Everyone loves you, and also wants you dead.
Your life hangs on the very thread,
That words like knives are thrown at all the time.
"What now?" You ask, as it all becomes too much.
"My fame?" You think, "Or her trust?"
Clearly, you made the wrong choice,
Because I'm still sitting on my bed,
Screaming these words to you outloud:

"It's hard to laugh when I'm busy crying.
It's hard to smile when I'm busy frowning.
It's hard to love when I'm busy hating."

Was it worth it?

This one could be a song! It's not free verse it's full of end rhyme, so again just list the form as Verse or Rhyme..I would really like you to try an animal Limerick for my contest I bet you could do the limerick meter GREAT! Please do try! And your input on Raven's Plight & Black Out would be greatly appreciated. Light & Love
