Warmth

Sitting in front of the woodstove fire In the warmth that does inspire Thoughts like flames, comfort to be Kept safe from the cold that I flee Not the beauty of the snow outside Only cruelty that makes me hide Long enough to find my inner voice To speak for those without a choice Winter falls on many with pain As icicles drip teardrops like rain It is the warmth everyone longs for The stability which allows us to soar Heidi Sands 12/8/18

Lovely thought provoking verse Heidi, It reminded me of all the homeless people I saw last week in Cardiff city, many not there by choice. It's a cruel world we live in. Tom.

Thanks for sharing in your comment Tom. It is time we all do what we can in this cruel world we live in. I appreciate your visit to my poem :)
