Notes About The Poem

We finally have a nice warm day here in Airdrie, Alberta.

The sun is shining and the snow is almost gone.

Can't wait to get out and get my garden ready for Summer.

I do love ALL the seasons but sometimes you miss the Summer Sun and all the flowers in your garden. My happy place is on my garden swing in the back yard listening to the birds and the bees and smelling all the flowers blooming there.

Warm At Last

Sol, Sol Oh Where have you been!
I've waited so long to see you my friend.

It's been so long since I've seen your face,
Come to bring warmth and life to this place.

The winter is long and the skies are grey.
The few times we see you so short is your stay.

When we go outside we have to dress warm,
Under so many layers you can't see our form.

Now Spring is here and you're back at last.
The snow's almost gone and I can see grass.

The trees are budding and the birds are back.
Soon we'll have flowers and cook out back.

At last the winter has come to an end.
It's so good to see you my long, lost friend.
