War Flower

seeded in battle
growing amongst the death mass
weep
no longer in grief

blooming blooming high
veiny stem all aglitter
she
will outlive your fray

trusting the true gale
in her dance she instills mirth
cry
for the joys of life

Very thought-provoking. From the eyes of nature, our squabbles are minuscule and passing. Even the title alone makes you think, because they are two words you don't often associate with one another ... I enjoyed the attitude of this rebellious flower, and the eye that beholds such things in the midst of ugliness. Should do well in the contest (I know you don't do contests super often ... they can be fun if you are inspired by the theme)

A beautiful reminder that beauty is always there if we look for it. Even amongst the destruction of battle. Peace always, SuZ

Your beauty blooms great joy within me Poetess...I imagine her bloodless, purple and golden above the broken ashes...this poetry is pure excellence Laura...the paradoxical language with, "weep, no longer in grief...mirth & cry..." fulfilling beauty....J.A.B. A FAV!
