War

We got the letter I wished it had said something better He had fought in the war He fought in the hopes of something more He was killed with the picture of his family in his pocket I have a picture of him in my locket I read the words that today I still dread The words," He's dead" I miss him with all my heart I wish we had never been torn apart I don't know why we are doing this Sending our troops away from their bliss They are dying left and right Why can't we withdraw them from this fight Can't the world just get along This war is all wrong
