War

In my head a war is raging No agreement, there’s no pact Anger wants to be the leader Rule my thoughts, and with no tact Then comes Conscience with his reason Something must be done, and fast Quickly he sends for Discernment And hopes this tension will not last But the latter leaves him waiting And the waiting took too long This was not supposed to happen What ensued, was bad and wrong Anger whom got all the madder Started spewing gall and hate Conscience tried real hard to stop him But alas, it was too late Anger didn’t even bother In his fury and his rage He just swore with sheer abandon Like a lion in a cage Conscience quietly endured this He gave up, he spoke no more He just waited till Discernment Came and walked in through the door And he came, but with companions This shook Anger through his spine Never did he think Discernment Would show up with an extra nine Peace and Kindness, Faith and Patience Goodness, also Self-control Mildness, Joy, all these were present They all tried to reach the goal But the situation worsened Anger chided who and what But it didn’t take much longer ’till he wished that he had not Because Love now started speaking With a voice strong like a gong Everyone now stared at Anger Who now seemed a lot less strong.
