What is a missing eye,
If it is not mine?
Be strong,
It is not cause to cry
Nor an excuse to whine.
What is a missing tooth,
If it is not mine?
Be strong,
For a gapped smile, in truth,
Is not a cause to whine.
What is a missing limb
If it is not mine?
Be strong,
Smile and do not be grim
Nor seem, ever, to whine.
What is a missing life
If it is not mine?
Be strong,
And ask a lonely wife
If there is cause to whine?
