War
We pleaded for our lives
They showed us what death is
In our presence…
Our sisters were raped
Our mothers molested
Our soon to be wives
Deflowered in our korokoro eyes
Despite our muscles
We were rendered incapacitated
They don’t care about our emotions
Thinking we are as heatless as they
A shout earned us slaps
Our loved ones were killed
Right in our presence
Our women forced to practice lesbianism
In the name of pleasure
At their leisure
Our city turned to village
Our roads coloured with our fathers’ bloods
We became boyfriends of deflowered and raped girlfriends
All in the mighty name of war!
Now answer me!
Why war!
Why do we have to fight each other?
Answer me!
Why do we have to kill to satisfy?
Make others sad to be happy
Why do we?
Say no to war!
Say no to conflicts!
Say no to killing!
And let there be peace!
