Wanted

The human desire to feel wanted
burns within the aching well of the heart.
Each wandering soul drifts through this world,
praying for love's tender dream to start.
The yearning messages through the fragile skin,
soaking delicate emotions in a pool of hope.
But sometimes the harsh bite of reality
coils desires within despair's poisoned ropes.
It's hard to find the precious jewel of belonging
in a world that chases after the fire of lust.
This human wish to feel wanted
needs a strong foundation built on trust.
As love begins to emerge from its embryo,
the golden dream of being wanted comes true.
But to keep this sizzling spark alive,
it takes hard work all year through.
