Wanted
Wanted: A fix for the pain
Nothing works,
Not sun or rain,
Not houses or cars
or candy in jars.
Not diamonds and flowers
and not these long hours.
Wandering through a loveless life,
Never to be a happy wife.
Can't say goodbye.
Can't say hello.
Can't even let you know.
My love for you should help,
but I sit alone on a shelf.
Like a toy you played with one day,
and like a good boy
you put me away.
Wishing I could play my part.
Trying to be graceful and smart.
But like a doll,
I'm not dead or alive.
Half here, half there,
just trying to survive.
