Wander With Purpose

Life is a journey,
with a destination
deeply embedded;
the smell of the roses,
all the sweeter,
if you know where you're headed.

Life itself is the unfolding mystery - however if you are unclear of your ultimate goal, then could very well be walking in circles. I'm doing well Deb... and you?

I agree with you Timothy, that life's journey takes a fuller meaning when one knows where he's heading to. Stopping now and again to enjoy the sights can make it even more interesting! // paul

Your wandering need not be aimless. Nor the road to your ultimate destination need not be straight as an arrow. Thanks for your insight and encouragement!

I like this one. I think the last two lines spoke to me the most. I enjoy living life and sometimes not knowing where I'm going is just as fun. But, I also agree that when you do know where you're heading, and it's a good place, it's sweeter.

I like the paradox of wandering with a destination for truth. Perhaps our destinations are orientated towards truth's expressways Timothy. I always seem headed for the heart. Xool metaphysics. J.A.B.

My inspiration for this piece was the saying that goes: Life is a journey. And though I do agree with what this is saying, it sounds so incomplete. Surely every journey has a destination, no? And surely it matters where one ends up and one can enjoy the stops along the way, all the more :)

It sorta goes with the axiom: not all who wander who lost. You can travel and explore this wonderful world, while still carrying truth and the Word with you. Your straight and narrow path need not be as complacent as is implied.
