Waltz

Long left and long right A head swings to and fro Inside a waltz repeats a loop Outside the world careless goes by His foot swings like a pendulum Banging on a skirting board They might say “It’s sad, he’s mad” He might say “I remember we danced, in a trance” Longing left and longing right His heart yearns for his love That left that night

Very nice written poem, David! Now they have a weekly show on german TV and it's called "Let's Dance" where VIP's are trained by professional dancers to perform certain dances and the viewers have to decide who were best...Quite nice!..Thanks for your comments and have a great Sunday...Gert

Oh, my, that is so nice. And the ending is just so sad, but cool how you lined it up with the rhythm and message of the poem. Gosh, I haven't seen you in a while. What happened? About In Retro,it's probably one of the very few of my poems that could be considered ambigous. But if you were raised Mormon, you would understand it easily, I think. it's actually theological with my opinion sprinkled in! LUv, Andrea

The memory of your love is articulated so melodically in this wonderful "waltz," David. For me it's always been easy to fall into a trance while dancing. Quite a delightful read though the ending is sad. Love, Carolyn
