Walking Away

Walking Away

You believed I’d always need to stay.
You never thought I’d walk away.
But you’re wrong, for I’ve grown strong.
I’m never looking back.
I’m burning this bridge,
so you’ll know that
there’s no us…
only
me.

A very powerful write. Just those 9 short lines sum up so much emotion and reveal a snippet of the story behind the story. Congratulations on your win.

You're burning the bridge so that they'll know that there's no us... only me. This is a master piece. I've always heard "don't burn the bridge" Well you made a believer out of me, some people never need to cross over again.

Fine win my friend. So sad that some women have not that great strength and suffer from the abuse from some bad guys. Congrats on this win...

Pandita, this is indeed a very powerful piece. It takes a lot of courage to leave a relationship especially a toxic one! Excellent Nonet! Good luck in the contest and a 7 for a write that is well done! Kika
