Walk With Me
Walk With Me
Come walk a while, my friend with me
While we have time to spend
I’ll tell you of the times enjoyed
With many precious friends.
I’ve been so many places
And done so many things.
I’ve tried to face the crises –
Whatever life might bring.
I’ve walked the wilds of Timbuktu
And sailed on all the seven seas.
There came a night in Paris
That brought me to my knees.
Sometimes the walk was lonely –
Sometimes two knew ecstasy.
Then came the time when three of us
Were there for all the world to see.
And life has brought me harvest
From a seed I am proud to have sown.
While I may not have walked a mile in your shoes --
I have worn out a few of my own.
