Walk a Mile
Slip on these old shoes,
pull them on, if you dare
Walk in them a while,
but walk in them, with care
Pray, watch for the pitfalls
and beware my mistakes
For they've followed a path
that you've yet to take
The road can be dark
and there's been many a stumble
But you'll ask for a guide
when you're ready and humble
Those you meet on the path,
both at the end and the start
Will be there just to show you
that the truths in your heart
So, walk in these shoes,
walk along for a while
Tread where I have walked,
keep your head up and smile
Breathe the air that I've breathed,
see the sights I have seen
Feel the things that I've felt,
know the man that I've been
