Waking Curse

Days falling into shallow dreams I sleep again and fall for empty needs My movements guided by these strings I’m stitched to life and I’m dying for some wings Can’t recall why I am worth more than my death My reasoning delights in my last breath But something twists my mind for you I want it dead, but there is not much I can do Nights lifting me within my hands And now there is just nothing I can stand If this is what I need to be Then why is the pain building inside me? Still circling down an idle hole I have no thoughts, other than the love I sold Is there something that can end the loss I feel? But then again, this is only something the end reveals Testing me upon an empty floating isle My love has died and the dead spread out for miles I’m writing notes and sending them to earth To ease the pain, I will spread beauty from this curse
