Wake Up

My Kallam has been yearning for som' to write, Doesn't care if the day is dark or the yard is bright. Hungry to put some dance steps on paper, And wouldn't allow for me to postpone this for later; Listen, oftimes I just wanna write 'bout life's riddle, And how we ride it's tides without a briddle... How life takes away our days and yet we rejoice, Forgetting that each passing day is giving Asrael a choice; So easily we forget to check ourselves, retrace our steps And indulge in ibadah that purifies and helps. It makes us daydream that we're gonna be here forever, When those that have gone are plentious- Than drops of waters that make a river; I asked my pen if it was okay to do this Nasi'ah, And it said "Poet do you" and have no fear. I just wanna wake us all from our unnecessary slumber, that every day we're diminishing our mortal number; Let's live today in the light of reality That regardless of our class in the society, All shall answer to He who sent us here, Whether you ugly as an owl, or prettiest as a deer. Niggyraslife!
