Wake
Awake this morning with a positive vibe.
What you can achieve be your only thought.
Let your mind be focused on brighter things.
For today is fresh and newly brought
Days will be fleet as age creeps fast.
In the shadows where a child once danced
And time was just a clock that sat
Gathering dust and infrequently glanced
So rekindle the thought of days gone by.
When excitement was free and easily found
Where adventures lay in fields of gold
And childhood dreams where all around
Memories are the currency of years
That gains interest as you invest.
For when the Autumn of your life arrives
You will withdraw and be truly blessed.
On those rain-filled days when you idly sit
Quietly reminiscing on your past
May a smile appear and with it a tear
Remembering when all your days would last
So wake this morning with a spring in step
Full of gratitude for what you may find
Seek inspiration from many great things
And unleash your creative mind
