Waiting Quietly

I sit still and quiet Watching every breath My thoughts are flowing streams Only glancing rays of light I feel the lurking presence A darkness from within And hold myself carefully To keep from being seen For if I think to hard Or make any type of sound This darkness will encompass me And to it I will be lost But my will is a solid thing And beauty's never lost to me My laughter is a sharpened sword And stubbornness my shield I build my walls with every breath And hold myself so quietly Waiting for whichever comes Be it fight or bloodless victory So I sit still and quiet Watching every breath And wait for the darkness to recede So I can find myself.
