Waiting For the Rain(In the Rain)

I've waited a long time(impatient)
for the incoming rain(expected)
my chin lifted towards the clouds abound.
My gaze shifted,
prepared to wait long term-
I set my camp and settle down.

Many months become the year,
I've yet to hear(dripping,
Pouring)near;
I continue to watch the clouds.

When abacus struck two;
I felt drops so true,
as to melt me like a cube of sugar;
and turn me to goo.

I've waited so long(relentless)
holding on to hope(perspective)
that rain would come,
that I would bask,
I take out my laptop-
and complete my task.

I checked my E-mail.
