Waiting For Proper Due

People will never push you
If you don’t give them reason to
If you never prove yourself
Showing your potential

No one will know your talents
If you don’t know yourself
No one will see your value
If you stay up on the shelf

Waiting to be occupied
Though you’ve never even tried
Never even strived
To show any fight

Waiting for your high score
When you’ve never left the line
Expecting much reward
When you have not put in time

This is your lesson to learn
Respect
It is hard-earned
To work, its’ effect

But you cannot wait
Cause time goes away
You must show your face
Today
