Waiting For Love
In the quiet of the night, when the world is still,
I sit by the window, feeling unfulfilled.
More than 20 years, laughter filled the air,
But hidden in the shadows, was a heart laid bare.
The kids are all grown, chasing dreams of their own,
And here I am now, feeling so alone.
Once I danced in the sunlight, with hope in my eyes,
now the years have slipped through, like whispers of goodbyes.
All the late nights and sweet tales, were all I’d ever known,
Now I’m searching for a hand, that I can call my own.
Each smile I gave, another one was lost,
Still, I built my fortress, never counting the cost.
And maybe it’s not too late, to find a guiding hand,
To share in all the laughter, to dream and understand.
With every shooting star, I’ve whispered to the sky,
“Bring me a love that will never say goodbye.”
Oh, I’ve built this life with love, there’s no denying,
But sometimes it feels like, my heart is just sighing.
So many missed chances, moments brushed aside,
Now I’m standing on the edge, love’s a fading tide.
I’m waiting for someone - to take care of me,
To hold me real close and set my spirit free.
So here I am, with open arms tonight,
Longing for a spark, a chance to feel the light.
In the silence, I’ll hope, for a love that’s meant to be,
Waiting for someone, to just take care of me.
