Waiting
Skipping to the beat of my heart
Trying to understand what happened to us
Standing in the mirror of discontent
Looking for a place to retreat
A hide away I can get lost in
Watching you drift away from me
Reaching for you but you recoil from me
Casting our love into the sea
Sleeping in the cradle of what used to be
Piecing pieces that were once all we dreamed of
Keeping vigil in the middle of nowhere
Praying that the feeling of unrequited love will leave me
The memory of you is like sugar
The feeling you gave me
Has turned sour
For now we dwell in shadow
Awaiting the witching hour.
