Waiting

As immortal as I feel, all this life inside, I know the day will come, the day this heart
beats still. I move a little closer, to breathe in the sweetness of your breath, my
heart beats faster, taking in this life giving source. Racing through my veins and
filling my lungs, your love is running its course. When this candle burns dim, when
there is no love left to give, the day this flame burns out, and there is no life left to
live, remember, you are always my guiding light, your love that burns so bright.
Walking this world alone, that was my life, all this heart had ever known. The
dreams I dreamed, the visions I had seen, all in my mind, never as they seemed.
You walked into my life, taking away this inner strife. I taste your lips, embellished
by these tender sips. The day of reckoning, the day I enter those pearly gates,
know my love, that this is where my heart surely waits.
