Voices Call Me From the Other Side
Voices call me from the other side
I run to them but cannot hear them inside
They reach out and try to touch my inner self
But all the memories I have are pictures on a shelf
I seek them out but only catch a shadow
Trying to make a connection but still I feel low
They speak but no words are ever heard
Paintings move but the lines are always blurred
Through the smoke I see a pattern form
When it rains I see them dance in the storm
In the haze they often swim in my fate
I know there are from beyond heavens gate
I feel the fire upon my tearful face
But with no essence they have to leave this place
Coming nightly to leave their mark upon me
Scars left with ash so I can truly see
I walk the shore to listen to there song in the breeze
Watching them play on waves praying on my knees
Wading into the water there touch is cold
Fighting the current to get to them but I still fold
Climbing the mountain I see them walk off the ledge
Flying in fromt of me as I stand at the edge
They imprint in me as well as the snow
And finally with love I see them glow
