Voice of the Heart

In dying days and weathered dreams I open my heart In my own way I seek a path I speak through my art Desolation leads me blind But I’m still alive Resolving through the pain I find And I still survive In loss of love and devil’s eyes I bury my mind But in the blood and darkened times There’s still light that I’ll find Transfusions come from the sacrifice Of those that believe That underneath the sheets of violent ice We still deserve some reprieve In screaming skies and selfish winds We learn to hold on From hateful lies and bitter tears Comes one more caring song The words that break through every fear So hard to say but always dear The voice within will clear a way So hard to do but so true to say
