Voice of Love

It is love’s conquering and unavoidable call—
The enveloping aura, like veil, I feel.
What a rare creature, wonderful girl—
What a gem you’re, my damsel;

You’re my heart-throb, out of trouble—
A soothing balm deep in my soul;
In my heart, the joyous jingle—
Worries to dispel, and sour heart heal;

That things be peace-still.
You make my day whole—
Everything to lull!
You’re ever by me, that I don’t fall;

Pillar of courage, my heart all-time to steel
And fill, as I climb this life’s hill—
In all-things to achieve goal.
You’re my eyes’ apple,

My superlative love, my Garden Angel;
A succulent fruit, seemingly supernal;
My staple food, my best meal!
You’re a spring of hope, my joy made full—

Surely, cistern of honey, to my heart ever suckle.
Gal, to the One who sent you my way, I remain grateful;
As my ever-love I pledge not to renege: “I’ll be faithful”
Till death do us apart— nonetheless any gale!

Surely, together we’ll dwell, never to fail:
Whether in duet or duel,
Whether things be pale or well,
Whether anyone is ill or hale:

For nothing will against this love prevail!
Not e’en the gate of hell.
Surely, together in union, we’ll God forever hail—
Who will in peace keep us to dwell and do well.
