Visitors Weeping

Visitors Weeping

We looked in the oceans
they were glassy clear
we could see no shadows
no waves no life there

We looked high above
towards a grey lead sadness
we could hear no sounds
only cold quiet emptiness

We searched in the forests
examined the dead trees
looked under ground
nothing there nothing left to see

We looked in the rivers
under gravel and stone
before leaving your ghosts
we headed towards our home

And as your world receded
we wept all at once
as we steered our golden craft
towards a trillion shining suns
